Laker women place eighth at Brooks Twilight Invitational
Kreutzer, Cobb finish fourth, fifth respectively amongst Division II runners

MEMPHIS, Tenn. --- OCTOBER 7, 2006 --- In a rare night cross country race, the Clayton State Laker women’s cross country turned in another strong performance on Saturday night at the Brooks Memphis Twilight Classic.

The Lakers finished eighth overall in the 24-team field that consisted on NCAA Division I, II, III and NAIA teams. Clayton State finished with 219 points, 25 points ahead of North Alabama and five points behind Centre. Division II power Harding won the event with 40 points.

Individually, the Clayton State duo of Allison Kreutzer and Angela Cobb both faced their toughest competition yet this season, and they lived up to the challenge. Kreutzer placed seventh overall and fifth amongst Division II runners with a time of 17:44.13. For the fifth straight meet, Cobb finished right behind her with a time of 17:47.23, good for eighth overall and sixth amongst Division II runners.

In addition to Kreutzer and Cobb, Cassandra Bolivar finished 58th with a time of
19:45, while Terrica Hamilton finished 79th with a time of 20:23.11. Rounding out the Laker scoring was Katelyn Stache finishing 96th with a time of 20:46.22, followed by Maria Larsen finishing 103rd with a time of 20:55.7.

Both Clayton State teams will compete on Oct. 21 in the Peach Belt Conference Championships in Columbus.
