MORROW, Ga. – November 9, 2009 – While most college students will be spending Spring Break on a beach in Florida of any other place, the Clayton State Laker women’s tennis team will be getting an "Aloha" welcome. A three-match excursion to the island of Hawaii is the highlight for the 2010 schedule for the Clayton State Laker women’s team, which is coming off an 11-7 mark last year, advancing to the second round of the NCAA Division II National Tournament. Head coach Tamas Szabados’ Lakers enter this season ranked 10th in the ITA Division II preseason poll. See full story


Clayton State’ White, Semyrodenko fall in doubles quarterfinals of ITA Southeast Women’s Tennis Regionals
Lakers’ Cercelletti, Krommelova advance to Singles "A" Consolation finals
SUMPTER, S.C. – September 18-21, 2009 – The Clayton State Laker women’s tennis team opened the 2009-10 season over the weekend at the ITA Southeast Regionals at the Palmetto Tennis Center, and all eyes were on "A" flight doubles matches where the Laker duo of Katie White and Viktoriya Semyrodenko aimed to repeat as region championships. The Clayton State team, seeded eighth in the regional, advanced to the quarterfinals in the Doubles "A" flight. However, in the quarterfinals, White and Semyrodenko dropped a tough 9-8 decision to second-seeded Gabriella Kovacs and Sona Novakova from Armstrong Atlantic. See full story


Clayton State’s White, Semyrodenko earn ITA Division II All-American honors for doubles
Laker duo advanced to ITA Division II doubles championship
MORROW, Ga. – June 5, 2009 – Clayton State’s Katie White and Viktoriya Semyrodenko capped off a strong 2008-09 women’s tennis season on Friday as the Laker doubles duo earned ITA Division II All-American honors. White, a sophomore from Wolverhampton, England, and Semyrodenko, a sophomore from Donetsk, Ukraine, become the fourth different doubles team from Clayton State to earn All-American honors. It’s also the third straight season and fourth in the last five years that a Laker doubles team has been selected Division II All-American. See full story


Clayton State falls 5-0 in NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Women's Tennis championship
11th-ranked Lakers conclude 2009 season 11-7 overall with defeat against top-ranked Armstrong Atlantic
SAVANNAH, Ga. – May 9, 2009 – The 11th-ranked Clayton State Laker women’s tennis team saw its 2009 season come to a conclusion on Saturday as the Lakers dropped a 5-0 decision at top-ranked and defending NCAA Division II National Champion Armstrong Atlantic in the Division II Southeast Regional championship. Clayton State finishes its season 11-7 overall. The Lady Pirates swept all three doubles matches and two singles matches against the Lakers. See full story
