Clayton State opens Peach Belt women’s tennis play with 9-0 shutout at North Georgia
Ninth-ranked Lakers win all singles in straight sets to improve to 3-0 overall

DAHLONEGA, Ga. – February 16, 2008 – The Clayton State Laker women’s tennis team opened Peach Belt Conference play in fine fashion on Saturday with a 9-0 shutout victory at North Georgia. Clayton State, ranked ninth in the nation in Division II, improves to 3-0 on the season.

The Lakers won each of their singles matches in straight sets. Picking up singles victories were Anna Redecsi (No. 1), Julia Chergova (No. 2), Viktoriya Semyrodenk (No. 3), Katie White (No. 4), Kristina Jonutyte (No. 5) and Veronika Jasenovcova (No. 6). Clayton State dropped only two games combined in the bottom three seeded matches.

In doubles, Redecsi and Chergova (No. 1), White and Selma Hidass (No. 2) and Allison Evans and Semyrodenk (No. 3) each prevailed convincingly.

The Lakers continues Peach Belt Conference play at Georgia Southwestern on Sunday at 1 p.m.
