Clayton State women make it two-for-two in Peach Belt with 9-0 victory at Georgia Southwestern
Ninth-ranked Laker women lose only a combined nine games to improve to 4-0 overall

AMERICUS, Ga. – February 17, 2008 – The Clayton State Laker women’s tennis team made it two straight Peach Belt Conference victories on Sunday as the Lakers rolled to an impressive 9-0 victory at Georgia Southwestern. Overall, ninth-ranked Clayton State improves to 4-0 on the season.

The Lakers won all six singles matches in straight sets as Anna Redecsi (No. 1), Julia Chergova (No. 2), Viktoriya Semyrodenk (No. 3), Katie White (No. 4), Kristina Jonutyte (No. 5) and Veronika Jasenovcova (No. 6) each breezed to decisive victories. In fact, the Lakers lost only a combined eight games in the six singles matches.

Redecsi and Chergova (No. 1), Semyrodenk and Allison Evans (No. 2) and White and Selma Hidass (No. 3) all swept the doubles draw for Clayton State, losing only a combined one game.

Clayton State plays its home opener on Saturday (Feb. 23) in a key Peach Belt Conference showdown against Columbus State at 12 p.m. All Clayton State home matches will be played at Independence Park this season.
