Clayton State rolls past Fort Valley State 9-0 in women’s tennis
Ninth-ranked Lakers drop only one game total in improving to 2-0 overall

FORT VALLEY, Ga. – February 15, 2008 – The Clayton State Laker women’s tennis team made it two straight victories to start the 2008 season on Friday with an impressive 9-0 victory at Fort Valley State. The ninth-ranked Lakers are now 2-0 overall.

Clayton State lost only one game for the entire match combined in singles and doubles. Viktoriya Semyrodenk (No. 1), Katie White (No. 2), Kristina Jonutyte (No. 3), Veronika Jasenovcova (No. 4) and Selma Hidass (No. 5) each won in straight sets in singles for Clayton State, while Allison Evans won by default at No. 6.

In doubles, Evans and Semyrodenk (No. 1) and Hidass and White (No. 2) each won their matches by 8-0 scores. Jasenovcova and Jonutyte won by default at No. 3.

The Lakers open Peach Belt Conference play at North Georgia on Saturday at 1 p.m.
