Laker women drop competitive 6-3 decision at
21st-ranked Rollins
Redecsi, Chergova, Marosfalvi each post singles victories for 3-5 Clayton State

WINTER PARK, Fla. – MARCH 6, 2007 Spending Spring Break in sunny Florida, the Clayton State Laker women’s tennis team dropped a tough 6-3 decision at 21st-ranked Rollins on Tuesday.

The defeat drops the Lakers to 3-5 overall. It was the sixth nationally-ranked opponent that Clayton State has played so far this season. The Lakers split the six singles matches, but dropped all three competitive matches in doubles.

Anna Redecsi, Julia Chergova and Zsuzsa Marosfalvi each posted victories in singles for the Lakers. Redecsi recorded a 6-4, 6-1 victory at No. 1 against Tasi Purcell from Rollins, while Chergova won a 6-3, 6-4 decision at No. 2 against the Tars’ Marie Mahler. At No. 5. Marosfalvi won a 6-2, 6-3 decision over Rollins’ Silvia Frandji.

The highlight in doubles was at No. 1, where Clayton State’s second-ranked team of Redecsi and Chergova dropped a tough 9-7 decision to the 18th-ranked Rollins team of Purcell and Mahler.

Clayton State plays its first home match in two weeks on Sunday, playing host to Georgia Southwestern at Laker Courts.
