Clayton State’s Sayon
selected All-Peach Belt Conference for women’s soccer
Sophomore forward was Lakers leading scorer this season

MORROW,
Ga. – November 6, 2009 – The Peach Belt
Conference released its 2009 All-Peach Conference for women’s soccer
on Friday, and Clayton State’s Cherie Sayon was selected first team
All-PBC. The All-Conference team was voted on by the Peach Belt
Conference women’s soccer head coaches.
A sophomore forward from Monrovia, Liberia,
Sayon is the only Clayton State player on the 2009 All-PBC team. She
joins PBC Player of the Year Kristin Burton, Columbus State’s Gina
Goforth and North Georgia’s Kelsey Martin as first-team selections

conclude regular season with 4-0 defeat at Lander
Lakers finish 4-10-1 and 3-6-1 in Peach Belt Conference

GREENWOOD,
S.C. – October 31, 2009 – Aiming
to lock down a Peach Belt Conference Tournament berth, the Clayton
State Laker women’s soccer team dropped its regular season finale on
Saturday with a 4-0 defeat at Lander. The defeat drops the Lakers to
4-10-1 overall and 3-6-1 in the Peach Belt Conference. The defeat,
coupled with UNC Pembroke’s victory at North Georgia and
Montevallo’s tie at Georgia College, eliminates Clayton State from
the upcoming Peach Belt Conference Tournament.

Ga. – October 21, 2009 – With postseason
aspirations on the line, the Clayton State Laker women’s soccer team
needed a victory at Peach Belt Conference rival Georgia Southwestern
to stay alive. The Lakers got it
on Wednesday with a 2-1 victory over Georgia Southwestern at
Hurricane Field. The victory ended a three-game losing skid for
Clayton State, which improves to 4-9-1 overall and 3-5-1 in the

S.C. – October 17, 2009 – After a period of
resurgence, the Clayton State Laker women’s soccer team is battling
a slump. On Saturday, the Laker
women dropped its third straight game with a 2-0 defeat at Peach
Belt Conference rival USC Aiken at the Pacer Pit. Clayton State
drops to 3-9-1 overall and 2-5-1 in the PBC with the setback. The
Lakers have now two straight to USC Aiken (3-10, 1-7 PBC).
