Clayton State’s Yusuf selected first team Daktronics Division II All-Southeast Region
Peach Belt Conference Player of the Year garners third All-Region selection for career

MORROW, Ga. - November 7, 2007 – With her career now in the books, the postseason honors are starting to pile up for Clayton State’s Olaitan Yusuf.

One week after getting selected 2007 Peach Belt Conference women’s soccer Player of the Year, Yusuf was selected first team Daktronics Division II All-Southeast Region. It’s the third All-Region selection for Yusuf in her distinguished Laker career, making her only the second Clayton State player in program history to earn All-Region honors for three seasons.

In addition, by being selected to the first team, Yusuf is now eligible for Daktronics Division II All-American honors. She is already a two-time Division II All-American for her career. Yusuf was one of 11 players from the Peach Belt Conference selected to this season’s Daktronics All-Region team, and the lone representative from Clayton State.

Yusuf leaves Clayton State as the all-time leading scorer at both Clayton State and in the Peach Belt Conference with 83 goals and 185 points. This season, she led the conference in scoring with 20 goals scored and had seven game-winning goals in the process. Currently, Yusuf is ranked fourth in the nation in goals scored and sixth in points scored.
