Clayton State’s Rolle finishes ninth
in men’s triple jump at NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field
championships
Laker senior just misses All-American honors for a
second straight season

ANGELO, Texas – May 23, 2009 –
For the second straight season, Clayton State’s Ahmad
Rolle came up just a tad short in his quest for NCAA Division II
All-American honors in men’s outdoor track and field. Competing in
the triple jump in the 2009 NCAA Division II National Championships
on Saturday at Angelo State, Rolle finished ninth overall with a
jump of 14.80 meters, just missing earning All-American honors. The
top eight finishers in the event earned Division II All-American
honors.

Laker aide wi ns honor for second straight season

Ga. – May 20, 2009 –
For the second straight season, Clayton State assistant
track and field coach Clive Caesar has been honored by the United
States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
Caesar was selected on Wednesday as the USTFCCCA "Assistant Coach of
the Year" for the Division II Southeast Region in women’s track and
field. Last season, he received with the same award for men’s track
and field. Caesar will be honored by the USTFCCCA this week in
conjunction with the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field
National Championships in San Angelo, Texas.

qualifies for NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field championships
Senior All-American to compete
in men’s triple jump for second straight season

Ga. – May 12, 2009 –
For the second straight season, Clayton
State’s Ahmad Rolle has qualified to compete in the NCAA Division II
Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Rolle learned of his status
Tuesday when the NCAA announced the field for the 2009 NCAA Division
II Outdoor championships, which will be held on May 21-23 at Angelo
State in San Angelo, Texas. Rolle will represent Clayton State in
the men’s triple jump.

Clayton State women’s 4x400-meter relay team
misses chances to improve
Relay team finishes second at Clemson Orange and Purple Classic
CHAPEL
HILL, N.C./CLEMSON, S.C.
– May
8-9, 2009 – The Clayton State
Laker women’s 4x400-meter relay team took two cracks at improving on
its time over the weekend, but could not make any gains in the final
weekend of qualifying for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field
Championships. The relay team of freshman Masiah Hutchinson,
sophomore Keisha Etienne and seniors Kara Stokes and Jon Taylor
competed in two meets, but could not improve on its time of 3:50.29
run May 2 at Morehouse.
The Laker quartet competed Friday night at the Chick-fil-A UNC Elite
Meet at North Carolina, finishing fourth in a time of 3:52.97. On
Saturday afternoon, the squad competed at Clemson in the Orange &
Purple Classic, but windy conditions hampered the team’s
efforts. The quartet finished second in a time of 3:55.81.
