Ga. – October 12, 2010 – The new NSCAA (National Soccer
Coaches’ Association of America) Men’s Soccer Division II Top 25 was
released on Tuesday, and the Clayton State Lakers made one of the
biggest jumps in the poll out of all the ranked teams.
The Lakers are ranked 10th
in the nation this week, a jump of 14 spots from last week when
Clayton State was ranked 24th.
In other news, Clayton State swept the weekly Peach Belt Conference
awards for men's soccer.

Fla. – October 9, 2010 – Taking a break from Peach Belt
Conference action on Saturday, the 24th-ranked
Clayton State Laker men’s soccer team dropped a tough 1-0 decision
at Sunshine State Conference power Tampa. The defeat snaps a
three-game winning streak for the Lakers, now 10-2 overall on the
season. Tampa improves to 8-4 with the victory. It’s the second
straight season that Clayton State has dropped a 1-0 decision

Ala. – October 6, 2010 – In a showdown of two Top 25-ranked
Peach Belt Conference squads, the 24th-ranked
Clayton State Laker men’s soccer team made a clear statement on
Wednesday night with a convincing 3-0 shutout victory at
second-ranked Montevallo in Peach Belt Conference action. The
victory is the third straight for Clayton State, which improves to
10-1 overall and 4-1 in the Peach Belt Conference. The 10-1 start to
the season is the best start to a season ever by a Laker squad.
Montevallo suffers its first defeat of the season to fall to 9-1-1
overall and 3-1-1 in the Peach Belt. Ryan Pugh scored twice for
Clayton State.

MORROW, Ga. – October 5, 2010 – The new NSCAA (National
Soccer Coaches Association of America) Top 25 poll for men’s soccer
was released on Tuesday, and for the fourth straight week,
the Clayton State Lakers are nationally-ranked. Clayton State is
ranked 24th
in this week’s Top 25, down one spot from 23rd
last week. Head coach Pete Petersen’s Lakers are currently 9-1
overall and 3-1 in the Peach Belt Conference heading into Wednesday
night’s showdown at second-ranked Montevallo (9-0-1, 3-0-1 PBC). In
other news, senior defender Brett Neilson was selected Peach Belt
Conference Defensive Player of the Week.
