Clayton State’s Brown earns PBC Defender of the Week for men’s soccer
Senior paced Lakers to two shutouts this past week

MORROW, Ga. – October 13, 2009 – The Peach Belt Conference released its weekly honors for men’s soccer on Tuesday, and Clayton State’s Liam Brown was selected as the PBC Defender of the Week.

Brown, a senior from Glasgow, Scotland, is the second Laker to earn PBC Defensive Player of the Week honors this season. Sophomore Roger Boniface earned the PBC honor during the first week of the season.

Brown spearheaded a stellar Clayton State defense that recorded two shutouts last week, extending its current shutout streak to four straight games. He successfully marked Montevallo leading scorer Nathaniel Foster in the Lakers’ 2-0 victory over Montevallo last Wednesday, and then did the same against Francis Marion’s Kyle Clinton in a scoreless tie on Sunday.

Clayton State (7-4-1, 3-1-1 PBC) plays a non-conference contest at Brevard on Tuesday.
