Clayton State men drop one spot to 14th in this week’s NSCAA/Adidas Division II Top 25
Lakers play host to Peach Belt Conference Tournament semifinals and championship this weekend

MORROW, Ga. - October 30, 2007 – The Clayton State Laker men’s soccer dropped one spot this week to 14th in the new NSCAA/Adidas Division II Top 25 poll, which was released on Tuesday. This marks the first drop for the Lakers after advancing in the poll for three straight weeks.

Clayton State went 1-0-1 in concluding its 2007 regular season last week and winning the Peach Belt Conference regular season championship. The Lakers outlasted Limestone 2-1 in overtime on a game-winning penalty kick by Jamal Geathers, followed by a tough 1-1 tie against Francis Marion on Saturday.

The Lakers are one of two teams from the Peach Belt Conference ranked in this week’s poll. Lander, whom Clayton State defeated last week 2-1, is ranked 19
th. Within the Southeast Region, Lees-McRae continues to be ranked second in the nation and first in the region ahead of both Clayton State and Lander.

Clayton State will play host to the Peach Belt Conference Tournament semifinals and championship this weekend at Laker Field. The semifinals are set for 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Friday, followed by the championship game on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
