Laker men move up three spots to 13th in new NSCAA/Adidas Division II Top 25
11-3-1 Clayton State aims to extend winning streak to four straight against Limestone on Wednesday

MORROW, Ga. - October 23, 2007 – Fresh off two key victories last week, the Clayton State Laker men’s soccer team advanced up in the NSCAA/Adidas Division II National Top 25 poll for a second straight week.

After moving up four spots last week, the Lakers advanced three spots to 13
th in this week’s Top 25 poll, which was released on Tuesday. It’s the second-highest national ranking this season for head coach Pete Petersen’s Clayton State team, which is currently 11-3-1 overall and 4-1 in the Peach Belt Conference.

Clayton State is currently on a three-game winning streak heading into Wednesday’s showdown against Division II Southeast Region rival Limestone. The Lakers routed North Greenville 8-1 on Wednesday, followed by Saturday’s epic 2-1 thriller at 22
nd-ranked Lander in a key Peach Belt showdown.

Within the Southeast Region, Clayton State is ranked second behind second-ranked Lees-McRae. Lander is ranked third, followed by Limestone in fourth. Rounding out the region poll is Queens, St. Andrews, Belmont Abbey, Pfeiffer and USC-Aiken.

Clayton State and Limestone will square off on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. at Laker Field.
