Lakers’ Geathers selected Peach Belt Conference

Clayton State freshman scored twice with one assist in two games

MORROW, Ga. – October 10, 2007 – The Peach Belt Conference released its weekly honors for men’s soccer on Tuesday, and Clayton State’s Jamal Geathers was selected as the PBC Offensive Player of the Week. It marks the first weekly PBC honor for Geathers, a 5-foot-10, 164-pound freshman forward from Aiken, S.C.

Geathers scored two goals and dished out an assist in two Clayton State victories last week. He scored a goal in the Lakers’ 2-0 shutout victory over 10
th-ranked Emory on Wednesday. Geathers followed that with a goal and an assist in Clayton State’s 2-0 victory over North Georgia on Saturday.

With his efforts, Geathers moved into the lead in the Peach Belt Conference in both goals scored (12) and points scored (27).

Clayton State (8-3-1) returns to action on Saturday with a 3:30 p.m. contest at Georgia Southwestern.
