Clayton State men’s golf tied for 16th after second round of Golfweek Spring Invitational
Lakers’ Novakowski tied for 34th at 8-over par 152
ORLANDO, Fla. – February 8, 2009 – The Clayton State Laker men’s golf team showed a little improvement in the second round of the Golfweek Spring Invitational on Monday. The Lakers fired a 310, four strokes better than the first round, and are now tied for 16th in the 18-team field at Reunion Resort Independence Course. Clayton State is tied with Central Oklahoma with a 624 for the first two rounds. Both teams trail Cal State Monterey Bay by one stroke, Washburn by two strokes and Carson-Newman by five strokes. Individually for Clayton State, junior Adam Novakowski fired a 4-over par 76 for the second straight round and is now tied for 34th with an 8-over 152.

ORLANDO, Fla. – February 7, 2009 – The Clayton State Laker men’s golf team got off to a tough start for the 2010 spring season on Sunday as the Lakers are tied for 15th overall after the first round of the Golfweek Spring Invitational at the Reunion Resort Independence course. The Lakers shot a first-round score of 314 to put themselves tied with Central Oklahoma for 15th in the talented 18-team field. Individually for the Lakers, junior Adam Novakowski had the low round, tied for 33rd with a 4-over par 76. See full story


Clayton State men’s golf set for challenging 2010 spring season
Lakers open play at prestigious Golfweek Spring Invitational in Orlando
MORROW, Ga. – February 5, 2010 – The quest to defend its Peach Belt Conference championship begins this weekend for the Clayton State Laker men’s golf team as it competes in the prestigious Golfweek Spring Invitational at the Reunion Resort in Orlando. Head coach Barry Harwell’s Lakers start play on Sunday in the inaugural 54-hole event on the Top Watson-designed Independence course that features 18 of the nation’s top Division II programs. 25th-ranked Clayton State closes out fall season tied for fifth at Indian Bayou Classic
Lakers’ Thomas finishes tied for fifth overall at even-par 144
DESTIN, Fla. – October 19-20, 2009 – The 25th-ranked Clayton State Laker men’s golf team closed out the fall season with a solid showing at the Indian Bayou Classic at Indian Bayou Golf Club. The Lakers finished tied for fifth overall with a two-round score of 600. Clayton State was in third after the first round on Monday with a 295, and followed that with a 305 on Tuesday. The Lakers finished tied with Northeastern State, and three strokes ahead of 23rd-ranked West Florida. Individually for the Lakers, senior Neil Thomas had the top performance for the Clayton State, finishing tied for fifth overall at even-par 144 (70-74). See full story
