Clayton State men’s
golf advances two spots to 20th
in GolfWorld/Nike Golf Division II Coach’s Poll Lakers compete next at
Bobcat Invitational on March 24-25

Ga. – March 12, 2008 –
For the second straight rating period, the Clayton State Laker men’s
golf team is ranked in the GolfWorld/Nike Golf Division II
Coach’s Poll.
After breaking in at 22
nd
in the previous poll on Feb. 21, Clayton State advanced two spots to
20th
in the new Top 25 poll which was released on Wednesday. The Lakers
received 46 points total for the ranking, just one point behind 19th-ranked
North Alabama and three points behind 18th-ranked
Lander.
The Lakers moved up two spots by virtue of their team championship
at the Southbridge Pirate Invitational and an 11th-place
finish at the Rendleman Invitational.
Clayton State is one of six Peach Belt Conference teams ranked in
the first 20 teams in the Top 25 poll. In addition to Lander, USC
Aiken is ranked sixth, while Armstrong Atlantic is ranked 10th,
Georgia College is ranked 14th
and Columbus State is ranked 15th.
Sonoma State retained the top-ranked team in Division II for the
second straight GolfWorld/Nike Golf Division II Coach’s Poll.
Clayton State plays next in the Bobcat Invitational on March 24-25
in Eatonton, Ga.
