Ga. – February 6, 2010 – Up
against the 21st-ranked team in the nation, the Clayton State Laker
men’s basketball appeared in great shape for an upset at in-state
rival Georgia College on Saturday.
However, the host Bobcats made a
tremendous rally in the second half and over-took Clayton State
74-67 at the Centennial Center. The defeat snaps a three-game
winning streak for the Lakers, now 12-9 overall and 5-6 in the
Peach Belt Conference. Georgia College is now 18-2 overall and
11-0 in the Peach Belt. Robert Murry paced Clayton State with 18

Playing its first road game in nearly a month, the Clayton State
Laker men’s basketball team took it to the wire at in-state
rival Georgia Southwestern. In the end, two free throws by
Robert Murry and two big defensive stops proved to be the
difference as the Lakers won a 65-64 Peach Belt Conference
thriller at the Student Success Center. The Lakers have now won
three straight games, improving to 12-8 overall and an even 5-5
in the Peach Belt. Georgia Southwestern is now 5-15 overall and
1-9 in the PBC. Georgia

Ga. – January 30, 2010 –
Concluding it’s five-game Peach Belt Conference home-stand on
Saturday, the Clayton State Laker men’s basketball team turned
up its offensive pistons and prevailed in an 88-80 shootout over
visiting Peach Belt Conference newcomer Flagler at the Athletics
and Fitness Center. The victory was the second straight for
Clayton State, which improves to 11-8 overall and 4-5 in the
Peach Belt Conference. After struggling offensively its last
three games, the Lakers showed dramatic improvements
offensively. Clayton State shot 52 percent from the field and 41
percent from 3-point range. And the Lakers needed every ounce of
that offense to fend off a scrappy Flagler squad. Senior guard
Robert Murry scored 20 points for Clayton State.

Ga. – January 27, 2010 – In an effort to stop a recent
sluggish skid, the Clayton State Laker men’s basketball team
reverted back to what it does best on Wednesday – play stout,
stellar defense. The move paid off as Clayton State ended a
two-game losing skid with a 67-56 Peach Belt Conference victory
over visiting Armstrong Atlantic at the Athletics and Fitness
Center. Clayton State is now 10-8 overall and 3-5 in the Peach
Belt, while Armstrong Atlantic falls to 5-13 overall and 0-9 in
the Peach Belt. Senior forward Jaquas Dobbs paced the Lakers
with 13 points and six rebounds.
