Returning
letterwinner who is expected to start at power forward for the
Lakers… Is back at 100 percent after missing most of last season
with a leg injury… Excellent defender and shot blocker, plus a
tremendous rebounder on the defensive end… Left-handed shooter with
an exceptional mid-range jump shot… A potential All-Peach Belt
Conference and All-South Atlantic Regional hopeful.
2006-07: Saw action in 14 games in his
first season in a Laker uniform, averaging four points and three
rebounds a game, while shooting a whopping 62 percent from the
field... Missed the entire Peach Belt Conference portion of the
season with a stress fracture in his leg... Scored a career-high
eight points on a perfect 4-for-4 shooting from the field against
Texas-Permian Basin... Also scored seven points each against
Southeastern and Carver.
Pre-Clayton
State: Lettered last season at Duquesne for head coach Danny
Nee after redshirting during the 2004-05 season… Saw action in 27
games with five starts, averaging three points and two rebounds a
game… Shot 49 percent from the field… Scored 10 points and had four
rebounds in a game against Fordham.
High School: Lettered four seasons in
basketball and three seasons in baseball at Columbia High School in
Decatur, Ga… High school head coach was Philip McCrary… Averaged 18
points and 13 rebounds during his senior season in leading Columbia
to the state quarterfinals… Averaged 15 points, 14 rebounds and five
blocked shots a game as a junior… Was a two-time team captain…
Selected to the National Honor and was member of the Beta Club.
