DARRYL LYONS
Head Cheerleading Coach

A native of Little Rock, Arkansas, Darryl Lyons is in his first season heading up the cheerleading program at Clayton State. He holds a bachelor's degree in Radio, Televison, and Film, and was a two-year cheerleader for the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.  Lyons was also a former four-year head instructor for the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA), and former three-year head instructor for the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA).  Lyons has coached numerous high school and college teams to state and national titles, including 1999 national champion Drury University, the nationally ranked Southwest Missouri State cheerleaders, the University of Arkansas Razorback cheerleaders, and the nationally ranked Mississippi State University Cheerleaders.
 
Lyons has also been nationally recognized by "The American Cheerleader" magazine as "Who's Who" in high school and college cheerleading from 1999-2005.  He also judges numerous national competitions around the united states for companies such as the National Cheerleaders Association, (NCA) Cheersport, Cheerleaders of America, (COA) Jamfest, The Worldwide Cheerleading Association, (WCA) American Championships, and the national high school and college championships administered by the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) and televised on ESPN. 
 
Coach Lyons is very excited the team and for his first season with the Clayton State program.
