JUNIOR LAKER CHEER DAY CAMP

* Saturday February 27th, 2010
* 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
* $30 per participant, ages 4 and up.

Participants will learn a short cheer and dance to be performed at the Clayton State Lakers' women's basketball game at halftime (game begins at 5:30 p.m.)

Tryout Prep Clinic
Saturday - May 8 - 12-3 p.m.

At the CSU Student Activities Center Dance Studio. The fee for this clinic is $10 per person.

THIS CLINIC IS OPEN TO HIGH SCHOOL AS WELL AS COLLEGE STUDENTS PREPARING FOR COLLEGE TRYOUTS! All participants in the 2010-2011 CSU Cheer and Dance Tryout Clinic must have the following paper work completed and bring with you to the tryouts. An offiical CSU waiver form, and information form. This forms can be found at www.athletics.clayton.edu/general/training.htm.

PROGRAM INFORMATION- The CSU spirit program provides excitement and entertainment to many campus events, community service programs, and athletic activities. The groups of cheer athletes are hard working, dedicated, and enjoy supporting CSU athletics. The primary focus of the team is cheering at all home Men's and Women's  Basketball teams.  The team also travels to the Peach Belt  Conference tournament and any post season tournaments, competes at camp and local competitions, as well as the famed PBC Cheerleading Championships held during the tournament. Fundraising activities are a required part of the program, and at this time there are no scholarships for members of the team. 
 
New transfer students, or students already on campus for the Spring 2010 that are interested in joining our cheerleading program during the Spring 2010 semester, please contact Head coach Darryl Lyons at darryllyons@clayton.edu for detailed information.

ATTIRE FOR TRYOUTS - All candidates for cheerleading or dance team must wear a white t shirt and either blue or orange shorts. Ladies are asked to wear you hair half up, light make-up, and wear no jewelry. Also, your nails should be at a low and appropriate length. Males faces should be clean shaven.

Requirements

Cheer -

Females - Three jump combination, both standing and running tumbling, participate in two stunts, a cheer, sideline, and short dance.

Males - Two stunts, standing and or running tumbling is encouraged but not required. Be willing to learn, and be athletic.

Dance -

Prepare a routine no more than two minutes in length including technical skills.
 
SUMMER CAMP-The CSU Junior Laker Cheer Day camp will be held on June 28, 29, and 30th 2010 Sessions will begin at 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for the three day camp. Participants will be taught cheers, sidelines, dances, stunts, and enjoy fun games and activities led by members of the CSU cheerleading team. Cost of the camp is $90 per participant.
